Digital Preservation in State Government: Best Practices Exchange

Digital Preservation in State Government: Best Practices Exchange 2006 was the first Exchange of its kind. This rich 2-day forum allowed librarians, archivists, records managers, and other information professionals to share their own experiences in managing and preserving digital state government information for public access. This is now an annual conference.

2004

6th Annual State GILS Conference

The State GILS ( Government (Global) Information Locator Service) Conferences grew out of a 1998 collaborative project between Washington, Oregon, Illinois, New Hampshire, and New Mexico state libraries to help the public find the state government information they needed. The project focused on individuals' need for information and the information-seeking process, not the documents that might contain the information.
